John (Haywood) Sullivan

Barry was my housemate at KU second semester of Freshman year.  This was the Spring Semester of 1970, when some real funky stuff went down, such as the Student Union fire, and Kent State murders.

Our house was a very, very funky house, and there were no cats in the yard. 1017 Delaware, accross from the real old baseball field, and the the Stokley Van Camp Pork and Bean Factory. The house leaned to the right, and it was haunted. I think the only way it continued to stay up was because the termites were holding hands.

Every day was a party.  I hardly remember going to class, but I had my best semester GPA when I lived with Barry. He was an easy guy to get along with, very nice and a good friend.

I got to see him last summer when he visited Glen Stinson. Still a real good guy. We had a couple of brews, some dinner, and told some old stories which made us all laugh.

Rest in pease friend.  I hope you find succor for your pain.
